A Report on EMS Volunteers Orientation Programme at CCCYC Bangalore
The volunteers from Evangelishe Mission in
Solidaritat (EMS), Germany arrived safely on 3rd September 2014 at
Bangalore international airport at 11AM received by two of the Project Officers
of CCCYC Bangalore. They were exited to be in India as most of them traveling
in India for the very first time and are anxious to meet the people they choose
to work for the next one year. The 9 volunteers from different parts of Germany
are Diana Yerlikaya, Elisabeth Hartmann, Finne-Ole
Gaertner, Jana Strien, Kathrina Sckell, Laura Kranich, Leon Krebs, Lisa Budzisz
and Lisa Frey.
On reaching CCCYC campus, Bangalore they met
Chief Executive, Mr.Solomom P. Benjamin and Manager Mr.Asir Jeyasingh and
expressed their happiness to be in India and their readiness to learn many new
and interesting thing from the children and the communities they volunteered to
work for the next several months. The manager explained to them about the two
days of orientation by resource persons and by the team of CCCYC staff at
Bangalore.
Her Excellency Andrea
Christ, the deputy Counsel General, consulate of Germany in Bangalore,
addressed the inaugural and welcome function for the volunteers in the evening. She made the evening lively and
interactive and urged the volunteers to use this opportunity and learn many new
things from the Projects they are placed in south India. She extended her full
support and cooperation all throughout their stay in India.

and 5th 0f September 2014 for the volunteers were as follows:

The orientation programme for preparation of proposal for select Children at Risk projects
The orientation programme to facilitate project proposal
preparation for the project staff from Adaikalam, Vellore, P. No. 20414 and
Integrated Child Care Project, Ambur, P. No. 21321 was held on 29 April 2014
between 10.00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The programme was organized as per the
suggestions about submit time bound proposal before 30 August 2014 as
communicated by Mr. Stefan Ernst, Programme Coordinator after his visit to the
above-mentioned projects.

Highlights of the Programme:
The programme started with the
opening prayer by Mr. Asir Jeyasingh, Programme Manager, CCCYC followed by the
introduction about the programme. The need for submitting time bound project
proposal for programme implementation (2015-2018) as per the suggestion of Mr.
Stefan Ernst was discussed. Also, in the preparation of the time bound
proposals the various facets to be considered in preparing the proposal was
discussed. The significant aspects discussed in this regard are,
§
Understanding about the programmes implemented
by the projects for HIV/AIDS infected and affected children by analyzing the
programme implementation, impact of the programmes on the target group and
specific areas that needs to be strengthened.
§
Planning programmes with significant participation
of the various stakeholders, involving sustainable strategies and innovative
programme plans ensuring better coverage that are to be included in the new
proposal involving participation.
§
Charting realistic activity based budget
distinctly highlighting the participation of the different stakeholders
involved in the programme.
§
The different aspects to be included in the
preparation and presentation of the suggested proposals were discussed in
detail and session was facilitated by Mr. Joshua Kenneth James, Project
Officer, CCCYC. The important aspect discussed in this regard are,
- The content and presentation of the problem, programmes and plans for the target group.
- The presentation of relevant statistical figures alongside the literature.
- Presentation of the logical frame work
§
It was also decided that the initial draft of
the proposal to be forwarded to CCCYC by 30th May 2014.

The programme concluded with the closing remarks
by Mr. Asir Jeyasingh, Programme Manager, CCCYC and closing prayer by Mrs. Veda.
